RESEARCH SERVICES
Desk Research
Literature review involves collecting secondary data across different sectors by reviewing written materials, such as reports, policies, or other documents. Our library includes business, humanitarian and legal references and other professional directories. E-Data offers desk research services, through the definition of research objectives and the identification of key sources of information.

Research Design

Research designs are the fundamental frameworks that guides our research methodologies, outlining the strategy for data collection, analysis, and interpretation. Selection can be made from a range of design types based on E-DATA partners specific needs and objectives. Experimental designs involve manipulating variables to establish causation, while observational and correlational designs explore relationships between variables. Longitudinal designs track changes over time, and cross-sectional designs offer snapshots of a population at a single point. Other designs include descriptive studies, case-control studies, and meta-analysis, each tailored to address diverse research questions and objectives. The selection of a research design critically influences the validity and reliability of study outcomes, reflecting the careful alignment with the goals and characteristics of the research.
Sampling
Sampling allows us to draw meaningful conclusions and make inferences about the entire population based on the characteristics of the selected sample. E-DATA team of data scientists, analysts and research professionals excels in crafting customized sampling strategies based on selection methods such as random, stratified, or systematic sampling. We employ rigorous quality control measures and are able to handle even the most complex data environments.

Quantitative Research

We provide comprehensive quantitative research encompassing questionnaire design, sample design, data collection, quality control, data processing and cross-tabulations, data analysis and reporting. We have the capabilities to undertake small scale general population surveys to extensive surveys with hard-to-reach target groups by relying on the rapid mobilization of our gender balanced team and their geographical distribution all over Lebanon. We also rely on our databases which contains the contact information of a large number of individuals and enterprises nationwide. At E-DATA we follow a diligent fieldwork process entailing recruitment, training, pilot testing and actual execution.
Our quantitative research entails a variety of data collection methods including:
-Face-to-face and CAPI Surveys (Computer Assisted Personal Interview)
-Telephone and CATI Surveys (Computer Assisted Telephone Interview)
-Intercept Survey (Street Intercept, Mall Intercept…)
-Online Surveys
-Mystery Shopping
-Site spot checks
Qualitative Research
At E-DATA we understand the importance of capturing nuanced perspectives and uncovering valuable qualitative data. Our team is dedicated to offer comprehensive solutions tailored to provide you with in-depth insights and to meet your unique research needs. E-Data qualitative team include experienced moderators, senior interviewers and note takers. Most team members are trilingual and have more than 10 years of experience dealing with respondents from different cultures and backgrounds. Our recruitment process relies either on contact lists provided by the client or on E-DATA internal database that have the demographic information of a large number of contacts. Having a large database eliminates any potential biases and ensures that no recurrent individuals are recruited for our focus groups. In addition, our field team is always available to conduct screening and recruit attendees in predefined hubs depending on the profile of the target population.
Our qualitative research entails and variety of data collection methods including:
-Focus Group Discussions
-In-Depth Interviews
-Key Informant Interviews
-Workshops and Reflective Group Interviews
-Case Studies
-Observations and Impressions
-Home Visits

Data quality assurance

We ensure the accuracy, reliability, and consistency of data collected during research, to ensure that our partners have access to high-quality data that can be used to make informed decisions. E-DATA’s data quality assurance and verification measures are implemented at every stage of the research process. For the quantitative research we adopt a robust quality control protocol where the data collected will be subject to an extensive quality control process and respondents will be re-contacted when necessary to validate their surveys. Back-checks will be conducted for 100% of surveys at the first two days and will gradually go down. A minimum of 25% of all surveys will be back-checked. In case the integrity of the questionnaires filled by any of the enumerators is not reliable, the enumerator will be stopped from work and all the surveys he completed will be canceled and replaced.
Data Analysis and Reporting
Data from the secondary and primary research will be triangulated within the process of the analysis and reporting.
At E-DATA we recognize that the real value of research lies in the depth and clarity of its analysis and are committed to transforming raw information into actionable insights that enable our partners to make informed decisions. We employ professional software to dissect data, identify patterns and extract meaningful trends. From executive summaries catered to decision-makers to detailed analyses addressing specific stakeholders, we deliver clear and concise reports that not only present findings but also offer strategic recommendations.
